J. H. House Elementary School Media Center
Information
Our Mission:
The mission of the J. H. House Elementary
School Media Center is to support the school's curriculum, assist members of
the learning community in becoming effective users of information, and to
foster a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Circulation Policy:
Students may check out the following
number of items for a 1-week period of time:
· Kindergarten:
1 item
· First
Grade: 1 item
· Second
Grade: 1 item (1st semester); 2 items (2nd semester)
· Third
Grade: 2 items
·
Fourth Grade: 2 items
·
Fifth Grade: 3 items (2 books & 1 magazine)
Parents may open a library account and
check out up to 5 items for a 2-week period of time.
Renewals :
Students may renew items by bringing them
to the checkout desk. Items must be present to be renewed.
Overdues :
There are no fines for overdue
items. Students with overdue items may not check out additional items
until all items are returned. In the case of lost or damaged materials,
check out of materials is suspended until the matter is resolved by media
committee review. Overdue lists are printed and distributed to classroom
teachers at the end of each grading period.
Lost or Damaged Books:
If a book is lost or damaged, the
replacement cost of the book will be charged to the patron. Should a lost
book be returned after payment has been made, a refund will be made if the book
is in good condition.
